How do I switch Lifeline and ACP providers?

You may transfer your Lifeline benefit to a new company at any time. However, you can only transfer your ACP service once a month. So make sure you have those two events coordinated before you make any changes to your account.

How to Transfer Your Lifeline Benefit

  1. Contact a New Company:

    • Find a company that offers Lifeline services.
    • Ask them to transfer your Lifeline benefit.
  2. Reapplication:

    • You may need to reapply before the transfer can be processed.
  3. Provide Required Information:

    • Full name
    • Date of birth
    • Last four digits of your Social Security number or Tribal ID number
    • Home address
    • Phone number
    • Consent (verbal or written)
  4. Give Consent:

    • Acknowledge that once the transfer is complete, you will lose your benefit with the previous company.
    • Confirm understanding that only one Lifeline benefit per household is allowed.
  5. Service Continuity:

    • In most cases, you should not experience an interruption in service.
