Earl Dreeshen is a Canadian politician and Member of Parliament (MP) with the Conservative Party. He was first elected in 2008 to represent the electoral district of Red Deer and was re-elected in 2011. In the 2015 election, he ran in the newly created riding of Red Deer—Mountain View and was elected once again. Dreeshen is known for his anti-abortion stance and his vote against Bill C-6, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (conversion therapy), which was passed by majority vote. Prior to his political career, he was a farmer and a physics and math teacher. Dreeshen and his wife still manage their family farm. His son, Devin Dreeshen, was a former Alberta Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Innisfail-Sylvan Lake.
